Adidas has developed creative product design techniques to promote sustainability. Our team designed a shoe to help communicate this theme in the modern world. We focused on the concept that even small actions can have a big environmental impact. Noticing the enthusiasm for sports among the youth in our city, we saw the challenge of shrinking play spaces in developing countries. Despite this, kids use their creativity to make new spaces for soccer. Our project aims to design safe footwear for kids, encouraging them to imagine and create their own sports world using the resources they have, drawing on our childhood imaginations for inspiration.

Process/Design Thinking

The video begins with the well-known Adidas 'loop' concept, represented by lines that mimic the Adidas logo and loop three times, symbolizing the 'Buy - Wear - Recycle' process

The original white tint has erased the red, symbolizing the children's injuries and frustration from playing soccer in a small alley. The Kanh footwear has addressed these problems.

I created several soccer montage videos, but focused on kids playing barefoot to highlight that many don't bother wearing shoes in the alley, ignoring injuries for the comfort of playing soccer barefoot.

The 'introduce' text outlines spread out to symbolize how wearing these shoes gives the feeling of a small alley becoming significantly wider.

This scene shows a child kicking a ball, only to be interrupted by a motorbike, illustrating how players are frequently disrupted during alley soccer, which affects the game's pace and tension. I initially wrote 'dangerous lurking,' but since the video is fast-paced, I opted for visual language, tearing the background and hiding the word 'danger' beneath it.

The rotating tire represents both the 'loop' concept and the irony that if motorbike wheels continue to interrupt the soccer match, those tires will eventually become the shoe's sole.

The colors on the children's faces match the Kanh shoe color options. The phrase 'con nit quy' (Vietnamese for 'devil kids') reflects their mischievous and playful nature, and they're thrilled that the motorbike wheels that once annoyed them are now part of their shoes.

This alley is unique with two levels: the upper level serves as a 'stadium' for adults to watch over their children and enjoy the soccer match below. White lines mark the playable area, while everything else is 'unplayable territory.' The goals are represented by white drawings on the pillars, and the children creatively use everything in the alley, even arches, as goals.

To eloquently illustrate how wearing these shoes can give you the feeling that an alley is no longer narrow and has expanded into a sizable soccer field, I apply an effect that makes the entire video wider and the “playground” actually become wider along with the effect.

I masked the old grunge background to reveal a structured grid with white drawings forming the shoes, symbolizing that wearing these shoes transforms a dirty alley into a professional soccer field.

The glitch effect, built on the RGB color scheme, primarily features Kanh's footwear colors.
